What does your art need?

As it moves through its lifetime, art has needs, and X Gallery’s services are designed to be accessible, flexible, and scalable to meet those needs. Whether you need transport, storage, the development of an inventory, career documentation, the creation of a sales or placement plan—or all of the above—we are here to help.

There are as many types of art collectors as there are works of art.

We know that roles and needs are dynamic as art collections grow and change over time: small collections may become large collections; buyers may become sellers; artists may become collectors; collections may become estates; and heirs and advisors often need support.

And through it all, there is the art—which has a surprisingly mobile life. And it persists, across contexts, over years. From the studio at the moment an artist breathes life into an artwork, out into the world where a piece may move through many spaces, an artwork’s meaning and value accrues and changes through time.

“Before our collaboration with X Gallery, about 100 pieces of Central City Concern’s art collection were housed in various places around Portland. X Gallery provided an elegant solution for cataloguing the art, storing it in one easily-accessible location, and professionally transporting it to and from various sites as it was consolidated and later dispersed for hanging in our facilities. The staff was delightful to work with and very flexible in meeting the needs of our non-profit organization.”
